Director of Bramwell International Embarks on a Journey through Africa
Alastair Bramwell takes time out from the business to travel across East Africa
Avid outdoor enthusiast and co-owner of leading outdoor distributor Bramwell International, Alastair Bramwell is taking time out from the business to travel across Africa with his family, fulfilling a long held ambition with a four month trip that will commence on 1st September 2011.
Alastair will make the epic journey from Alexandria to Cape Town with his wife and three children by Land Cruiser, crossing through countries including Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Mozambique, before reaching their destination in South Africa.
The trip was set in place three years ago following a business growth programme at Cranfield Business School, attended by both Alastair and his brother and Co-Director of the business, Nick Bramwell.
Bramwell International continues to expand, and with the recent appointment of a Sales Manager and support of the full team, the business is in a strong position to maintain that growth while Alastair is travelling. Over the four month period Co-Director Nick Bramwell will run day-to-day operations, with Alastair keeping in touch regularly.
Director Alastair Bramwell comments: “Taking time outside the business can be beneficial – to the business as well as the individual, and I wanted to take this opportunity to fulfil this goal and return with a broader view for the business.

Whilst travelling through different terrain and climates Alastair will be actively testing out some of Bramwell’s distribution products including Meindl footwear, Source hydration systems and Gregory backpacks. Alastair will return full-time to the Bramwell International in January 2012 to continue to drive the business forward.
