Full-time teacher, author, and freelance International Mountain Leader, Ali has been wearing Meindl boots and hiking shoes for over 18 years, walking them into the ground until they finally give up the ghost.

    Ali Rowsell

    Ali has worked internationally, in countries including Australia, South Korea and Switzerland. She specialises in the outdoors, in particular mountain walking, and is a freelance International Mountain Leader, Climbing Wall Instructor and Mountain Bike Leader.

    As a seasoned adventurer who has set foot and traveled on all continents except Antarctica to date, she has a passion for exploring new locations and sharing her love for the outdoors.

    Based in Sussex, Ali can regularly be found exploring every kilometre of the South Downs, as well as Ashdown Forest. Ali regularly works and plays in Snowdonia and the Lake District, and has explored all other National Parks the UK has to offer.

    Ali has been wearing Meindl boots and hiking shoes for over 18 years, walking them into the ground until they finally give up the ghost. The most satisfying of which was when Ali departed with her Meindl Borneo’s on the Salkantay trail to Machu Pichu in Peru, after 12 years of international use!

    Autumn on the Carneddau

    The Carneddau, Wales; a wild and rugged landscape with 19 peaks over 600m in height, the official elevation considered to be regarded as a mountain. Early autumn is a perfect time to explore the area, with matured heather, ferns and rough grass abundant amongst patches of shattered rocks. If you time it right and check the weather, clear and pristine walking days with cloud inversions are frequent and there are numerous walks in the Carneddau to suit all walkers.
