A lively and busy Outdoor Trade Show

It was good to be back at OTS 2021 and to be at the heart of the UK outdoor industry with our Meindl exhibition stand.

Exhibition Centre Liverpool was our host venue and we really enjoyed their lively waterfront location. But what was even better was getting back to seeing other exhibitors, customers and the media in person.

It proved to be a busy show and our sales team combined pre-booked buying appointments with show walk-ins. The customer consensus is that business continues to be strong for both independent and high street outdoor retailers. We were pleased to showcase the core Meindl range and to introduce buyers to new products, particularly in the wider-fitting Comfort Fit range, which includes walking sandals.

One of the highlights of the show for many was the Sustainability Breakfast, which shared outdoor industry insight, action and collaboration. We’re all exploring themes such as The European Green Deal, supply chain laws, recycling, new materials and technologies in our businesses. So it’s good to hear from other brands within the industry and to celebrate Meindl’s sustainability commitment, which has been in place for decades.

Sustainability was a central part of Meindl’s international distributor meeting last year and it’s becoming a stronger thread in all of our Meindl UK & Ireland messaging as consumers rightly demand high standards.

Meindl is committed to longevity as the best form of sustainability. High-quality materials, centuries of knowledge, experience and craftsmanship, and timeless design ensure precisely fitting and durable styles. The boots can also be resoled, which extends the life of the product, conserves resources and minimises environmental impact.

We’ll be continuing to raise awareness of these key principles over the A/W season, collaborating with our thriving network of Meindl stockists to help consumers make an informed choice.
